“And immediately, when Jesus perceived in His spirit that they reasoned thus within themselves, He said to them, ‘Why do you reason about these things in your hearts?’” Mark 2:8
It has been said that at the heart of every problem is a problem with the heart. When I say the heart I really mean the soul. The soul is the principle of life, feeling, thought and actions. Before a person’s heart can be healed there has to be a diagnosis of what the problem is first.
Jesus knows what is in our hearts. He has full access to all of our information. Hebrews 4:13 says, “And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.” Jesus knew exactly what was in the hearts of the scribes. He knew they were skeptical about His claims, so He answered them immediately.
Do you have any skeptics in your circle of friends or family? Are you personally skeptical about some of Jesus’ claims? I believe every one of us can be skeptical about His claims, especially when we are going through hard times. But it is during those hard times that we need to jump into God’s word and be reminded of all the times Jesus answered those skepticisms by simply by speaking a word.
Are you going through a hard time today? If so, remember, Jesus knows what is going on in your heart and He wants to heal you. Simply take time today in prayer and let Him speak a word to you.
Join us Sunday at 11:15 as we open Mark 1:40-2:12 for a message titled “Jesus, Healer of the Heart”. Please pray about inviting a skeptic in your life. God bless you all and hope to see you there!
